A fast iterative algorithm to design phase-only sequences by minimizing the ISL metric

Unimodular/Phase-only sequence having impulse like aperiodic auto-correlation function plays a central role in the applications of RADAR, SONAR, Cryptography, and Wireless (CDMA) Communication Systems. In this paper, we propose fast iterative algorithm to design phase-only sequences arbitrary lengths by minimizing Integrated Side-lobe Level (ISL) metric, which is very closely related property sequence. The ISL minimization problem solved iteratively using Majorization-Minimization (MM) technique, ensures monotonic convergence stationary minimum point. To highlight performance proposed algorithm, conduct numerical experiments for different initializations also compare them with existing algorithms. Numerical simulations show that irrespective length initialization, performing better than state-of-the-art algorithms terms speed convergence. We computationally efficient way implement our FFT IFFT operations.
